I never liked popsicles...

... they make my teeth hurt. They always have. And now, I like them even less.

I received a call from dw the other day, telling me the toilet wanted to over-flow. I recommended she tell it, "no." She advised me that she had already done that, so I figured there was big trouble in little china (as in porcelain, get it?).

So I come home and begin to troubleshoot the situation, only to realize that I have to dissassemble the toilet. Great. So I do and find, among some really disgusting toilet-style stuff, one, single, solitary popcicle stick, wedged sideways in the very bottom of the toilet.

Nice. Not a fun, relaxing evening for yours truly. Here are a couple of pics from my fun-filled evening activities:

Needless to say, we said goodbye to a couple of towels that evening.

I had to break the stick to get it out.

Yeah. Yuck. That's what I'm saying.

Boys in the Rough

I took my two oldest boys camping at Cloudland Canyon a couple of weeks ago. Yes, I know... way to keep up on the ol' blog, right? Whatever...

Anyway, it was just about the most fun in my life so far, and I know the boys enjoyed it. They were a huge help, pitching the tent on Friday in the dark. It was an adventure, and they were great.

As you can see from the montage above, we were quite cozy in the tent, even though the temperature dropped below thirty degrees Fahrehneit as we slept.

It was a real blast.

See montage #2 below for pictures of the hike. We hiked over five miles. The boys never complained once. I have to tell you, though, my dogs were barkin' at the end of the day. What is funny about our hike is that we could not find the trail from the campground to the main hiking trail. We probably made two full circuits of the campground before I broke down and asked a park ranger for assistance. As it turns out, we stopped right in front of the trail entrance, twice. I had ds1 take a picture of a re-enactment of the situation:

Ok, so here is montage #2, which mostly contains hiking pics:

We enjoyed this boys men's weekend in the wilderness so much, I have decided that we will do it once a quarter.
